Mace Construct will begin trading as Forco from the new year, the contractor has announced, replacing a name that will remain with its former sister business, Mace Consult.
Mace Construct and Mace Consult became separate businesses in March. Under the separation agreement, Mace Consult retained the Mace brand. Mace Construct will continue to trade under its existing name until the new year before moving to Forco.
The contractor said the new name is “short, impactful and easy to pronounce.” Forco will be introduced alongside a new corporate strategy and productivity targets running through to 2030.
Mark Reynolds, Executive Chair, said the change represents a commitment to being the UK’s most forward-thinking contractor and its most productive by 2030. He said the business would build on 35 years of work by Mace Construct in raising standards and helping to drive the industry forward.
Reynolds also sought to reassure clients that the operating qualities behind the business would remain. He said the company’s culture, values and people would not change, and that clients could expect the same teams, the same commitment to delivery and the same drive to create places and infrastructure that last.
The name change applies to the contracting business, while Mace Consult keeps the Mace brand. The rebrand is positioned around continuity for clients as well as a new identity for the contractor.
