PSHE: Core Values

Delivery idea

Through PSHE lessons students explore Rugby's core values and use their knowledge to create an assembly, for delivery in class, year groups or across the whole school.

How to do it

Introduce students to Rugby's core values, using the 'This is Rugby' video or posters in this resource. Working in groups, the students further develop one of the values and find examples of it in action in a variety of Rugby contexts. Students collect examples in text, photos or videos. Through facilitation by the teacher, students identify other areas of their lives where they need to/ do demonstrate that value. Students present their work in an assembly, using their preferred method of presentation, for example, slides, video, play/ sketch.

When/ where to use it

This project could be delivered at any time, perhaps in the lead-up to the Rugby World Cup.

Top tips

Draw on other resources around the values, such as interviews with players (in school and from local clubs), coaches and parents.
